I am a psychotherapist practicing in Manhattan. I offer nuanced, personalized treatment, integrating behavioral therapies and psychoanalytic theory. My approach to therapy is collaborative, curious, warm and direct. Together we will identify challenges and patterns, set goals, deepen insight, build coping skills and move toward change.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Barnard College and a master’s in Advanced Clinical Social Work from Columbia University. I completed my clinical training at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Hospital. Prior to private practice, I was a therapist, supervisor and program director at Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children. I am also the author of two books, Just Like Family (Harcourt Brace) and Becoming a Social Worker (Simon and Schuster).
I work with individuals and couples. Areas of expertise and interest include:
Anxiety
Depression
Trauma
Attachment disorders
